De fietsen zijn bestemd voor Patriensa in het Asante Akim Distrikt. Op 11 mei 2007 zijn er 90 fietsen uitgegeven, en in mei 2008 is er een uitgifte van 65 fietsen gepland en in september 2008 75 fietsen.
Voor de dag van de uitgifte op 11 mei heeft de radio een week lang een oproep uitgezonden voor mensen om op 11 mei naar de fietsuitgifte te komen kijken in Patriensa. En er is een persbericht uitgegaan, net als formele uitnodigingen naar diverse village officials. Zodra het licht wordt (om circa 5 uur) zijn er mensen in de weer om tenten op te bouwen, geluidsinstallatie aan te sluiten , boxen te plaatsen etc. Langzaamaan druppelen de beneficiaries, genodigden en toeschouwers binnen. Omdat de uitgifte wordt gehouden op het terrein van AAMCT, zo’n 7 km van het dorp waar de meeste beneficiaries vandaan komen, zijn helaas niet alle beneficiaries aanwezig. Maar, vanwege de radio omroep zijn er uit alle windstreken mensen aan komen waaien die ook graag in het microkredietprogramma willen worden opgenomen.

Nadat de pastor de ceremonie opent met een openingsgebed vertelt een aantal vrouwen over wat ze van plan zijn met de fiets te gaan doen:
Mss. Patience (24) vertelt: “I go to Konongo High School, 6 miles from here. When I go to school I first have to walk 1 to 2 miles and then take a minibus. My mother is very sick and can’t take care of herself. My father works in Accra to earn money which he sends home to support my mother and me in my education. With this bicycle I am home early and can help my mother doing the household and do my homework properly so I can finish school. Besides, the bicycle will save me 4000 cedi’s on transport costs per day.”
* 4000 cedi per day equals 0,33 euro. In a month this will save her 10 euro. The bicycle from Cycling out of poverty cost her 24 euro. So already in 3 months she can pay off her bicycle just by saving her daily transport costs.
Mrs. Mary (29) vertelt: “I work on a farm land which is 6 miles from my house. Now I just spend 4 to 6 hours a day on going to and coming back from my fields. With the bicycle I just need 1,5 hours for transport and I can take al lot of things , gardening tools and crops, with me very easily. With the 3 to 4 hours I’ll save I will spend more time on the land. I hope I can buy more land in the future!”
Mrs. Frimpong: “I life in a very remote village far from this place (Patriensa). If you walk it will take you three days. We only have one bigger village 8 miles from my village where they have a market. I am a farmer and sell my crops on this market. I take a minibus to get there, but during rainy days there won’t be any public transport in my village because of the muddy roads. Only then the farmers with a bicycle can come to the market and sell their crops on the market. Now with this bicycle I am one of those lucky ones and can now guarantee my income because I am not affected anymore by the weather.”
De officiële overhandiging van de fietsen is vergelijkbaar met een diploma uitreiking. Het is voor hun natuurlijk ook een hele gebeurtenis dat ze de fiets krijgen. En door er zoveel poespas omheen te maken, en de village officials erbij uit te nodigen is er ook support vanuit hun omgeving om de fiets op een goede manier te gebruiken. Het is een erg geslaagde dag.
